Package prices are driven up by additional items such as large prints or parent albums. If items you don't want are included ask if they can be substituted for other items. The studio is doing you a favor if they offer a substitution so don't get greedy and ask if the price can be reduced. Most, if not all, will not accommodate you. Many will say no to both instances. If you are talking to a sales staff member ask, " Would the owner be available to consult with?" Not, "Is the owner in?" Most often it is not what you ask but how.
PHONE SHOPPING
Don't ask, "How much are your wedding packages," as soon as someone answers. That's like asking a florist how much are flowers are for a wedding. Photographers need to know what you have in mind such as photos at the church only, church and reception, church with reception downstairs, travel time to the reception and of course where the wedding itself will be held.
Start the conversation something like, "Hi, my name is ............My wedding date is ........... Would you be available on that day?" Then, let the conversation flow. Some will not quote specific prices when phone shopping or even at all. All that means is you could be a competitor or they would just rather talk to you in person to make the sale. Phone shopping is a good start but don't be led by price alone.
Below are Tyme Photography's price ranges. It is impossible to talk specifics on the phone. You need to SEE the differences before narrowing the cost down to specific collections to fit your needs.
